Abstract

The author propose an outline of concept of embedded system designed to support spatial orientation for both visually impaired individuals and emergency personnel (e.g., firefighters) operating in low-visibility environments such as smoke-filled or dark areas. Personal Spatial Orientation Support System uses sixteen Time-of-Flight distance sensors arranged around the user, enabling distance measurements in all directions. Sensor data will be processed by artificial neural networks that classify obstacles and estimate their relative positions. The system will provide real-time information on object distances and movements. The proposed system can significantly enhance safety and independence for users in diverse environments, representing an innovative step toward intelligent navigational aids for people with visual impairments.

System Wspomagania Orientacji Przestrzennej Osobistej (PSOSS) wykorzystuje szesnaście czujników odległości opartych na pomiarze czasu przelotu (ToF) rozmieszczonych wokół użytkownika, umożliwiając pomiar odległości we wszystkich kierunkach.
